A youth-led nonprofit for high school students

Mosaicevery piece matters

Mentorship Opportunities Social Advocacy Impact Collaboration

A year-long, partnership-powered curriculum where high school students don't just listen — they build.

01 · The Problem

There's a gap for ambitious high schoolers.

  • Students hear about leadership, research, entrepreneurship, and STEM — but rarely get to practice them before university.
  • Opportunities exist, but they're scattered across organizations that don't talk to each other.
  • Most youth programming is one-off talks: students listen, leave, and nothing sticks.

Students have cool ideas.
No one is telling them that — or showing them what to do next.

02 · The Vision

One roof. Many organizations.
Tangible outcomes.

Built on partnerships

Mosaic is a platform multiple organizations build on together — each partner powers the stream they know best.

Workshops that make things

No more just yapping at students. Every workshop ends with something real that students made, pitched, or launched.

Ideas feel possible

Students leave believing their ideas are cool and worth pursuing — with the mentors and network to actually pursue them.

03 · The Curriculum

Four streams. Choose your pieces.

Students pick one stream — or all four. Each runs as a year-long series of hands-on workshops led by experienced mentors.

Leadership & Advocacy

Run teams, run the room, and turn what you care about into campaigns and community change.

Research

Health-focused research skills: asking real questions and investigating them rigorously.

Entrepreneurship

From idea to pitch — building ventures and learning that struggle is part of success.

STEM

Science, robotics, engineering, and tech — hands-on projects across the whole STEM spectrum.

04 · Founding Partners

The first pieces are already in place.

Entrepreneurship stream

SIYS

Struggle Is Your Success

Bringing lived entrepreneurial experience to the workshop floor — mentoring students through the messy, real process of building something.

Research stream

RISE for Health

Health research, made accessible

Anchoring the research stream with real health-research expertise and pathways into the field for high school students.

Each new partner adds a piece to the mosaic — the leadership & advocacy and STEM streams are open for partners now.

05 · What We Need

An advisory board that opens doors.

  • Mentors — experienced people who guide the teams designing and delivering each workshop.
  • Connectors — people rooted in Saskatchewan who link us to partners, venues, funding, and credibility.
  • Stream experts — RISE and SIYS anchor research and entrepreneurship; we're seeking advisors for leadership & advocacy and STEM.

Advisors make Mosaic official — and make the network bigger than any one of us.

06 · What We Need

A team of people who know their stuff.

Who they are

University students and professionals from USask and across the region — anyone expert enough in their field to teach it with confidence.

What they do

Design and run the year-long workshop series for their stream — showing up consistently, not just once.

Why it matters

Quality workshops live or die on the people running them. A strong team is the difference between a program and a movement.

07 · The Roadmap

How we make it real.

Phase 1

Advisory board

Bring mentors and connectors on board. Lock in founding partners across all four streams.

Phase 2

Build the team

Recruit workshop leads from USask and the region — experts matched to each stream.

Phase 3

Develop curriculum

Teams and partners co-design the year-long, hands-on workshop series for every stream.

Phase 4

Launch

Open enrollment to high school students — one stream or all four — and start building.
